JOHN CLIFFE MEMORIAL COMMITTEE (July 2007)
The first meeting was held on 26th June and attended by Sue Cliffe, several parents, staff and Governors and the key decisions were made: The fund and associated purchases will run until the end of 2007. Monies donated will be in the Friends of the School account.
The main purchases that the fund will to support depending on donations recieved are: • A Large gazebo/shelter to provide shade in the playground and outside education area, to incorporate a plaque in dedication to John's memory. • A small shelter. • A Willow play area.
Sid and Linda Baker are producing an honourboard dedicated to the Heads of the School since it opened and will have a prominent place in school. The Year 5 and 6 children planted bulbs with Mrs Anderson and Mrs Everatt earlier in the year.
The Year 6 children are arranging their own memorial gift for the end of term.
The committee will meet again in September. If you would like to make a donation, please forward to the school office
(Cheques made payable to Friends if the School).

RAISE THE ROOF APPEAL (July 2004)
As you are all are aware, the new classroom is up and Running and we are pleased to report we have exceeded our target of £20,000 which was our required contribution towards the overall cost of the project. The actual amount raised is still to be confirmed as there is sponsorship connected with the ball "marathon" and the medieval fun run.
This is a fantastic total for such a small school and thanks in particular go to people who generously gave their time to organise the events. If you are interested, the sums raised at some of the main events were as follows: Auction £3234 : Open Gardens 2003 £885 : Sponsored Cannisters £510 : Wine Tasting £270 : Fashion Show £280 : Jumble Sale £280 : Pyramid Lunches £365 : Summer Concert Drinks £243 : Easter Fayre 2003 £411 : Sponsored Run £600 : Joe's Cycle Ride £650 : Horse Show £1506 : T Towels £329 : Xmas Raffle £678 : Easter Fayre 2004 £450 : May Ball 2004 £3800+ : Aynho Craft Days £316 : Open gardens 2004 £800 : Medieval Fun Run £900 : Pet Food Delivery £250
Significant totals were also made on 'Buy a Brick' and the Monthly Draw.
Thanks to everyone who supported by attending and bringing their families an friends to the events, especially those families leaving school this year. Our best wishes for them in their new schools. We now look forward to September for our AGM and news of Phase 2 of the building plans and development of the admin block and ICT suite.
