A number of complaints have been recieved about vehicle parking on the pavements. It is an offence - "footpaths are for people" if you have to park on a foothpath please ensure there is plenty of room for parents with prams and for elderly people to walk past in safety. It is also an offence under the Dogs (Fouling of Land) Act 1996 to allow your dog to foul in a public place and offenders may be prosecuted. Offences witnessed should be reported to the SNC Animal Welfare Officer on 01327 322277 The Newbottle cum Charlton Parish Council : Past Minutes and reports can be found on the Parish Council's own website:www.newbottleparishcouncil.co.uk Updates: With over 270 parish councils in Northamptonshire, MGWSP is committed to working with the parish councils to provide services that would benefit the local community. The above gangs are being put together to provide one to two days work in one visit per year. The typical work that would be carried out are as follows: . Siding out of footways . Cleaning of signs . Repairs to signs, refixing to posts and realignment of posts . Clearing of vegetation from signs and footways . Resetting slabs / block paving . Isolated pothole repairs . Minor kerb repairs . Isolated gully clearing, rodding of connections, clearance of drainage grips . Strimming and clearance of small areas of verge . Painting of street furniture, (bollards etc) . Anything that may enhance the look of the parish If you think you have anything that would come under the above list please notify the clerk asap either by email or telephone and she will put a list together for the 'gang'. September 2009 You may be wondering about the outcome of the recent possible election for the three vacant seats on the council. Only two parishioners have come forward to join the Parish Council so they are elected unopposed, as there were more seats available than candidates. These two new councillors are Mr Andrew Woods and Mr Michael Loggin, both of whom have served on the Parish Council in the past. |
